Not that I want to defend the bears but their D was terrible this year and QB is everything in the NFL. Cutler isn't Super Bowl material and he will never take the bears all the way.

If QB is everything how do you explain the Cardinals and the Bills (both above .500) led by their crappy QBs? (True the Cardinals got 8 of those wins with Palmer but Stanton still led them to 3 more wins to get to the playoffs.) Or what about the game manager QBs that went 9-7 in the Texans and KC? Yes both had good defenses but their offense was terrible. Not saying Cutler is SB material, we all know he's not. But even somewhat decent QBs can still lead that Bears team to a .500 season. Elite defense ? You are drunk My bad, they were good like 2 years ago. I stand by all my other points

...By QB is everything I am referring to consistently making it deep into the playoffs and/or winning SBs. Outside of Flacco the last 10 year of SB champs have been very good to elite QBs. Wilson, Mannings (in their primes), Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, and Brady. That is enough for me to think it takes a very talented QB to win the superbowl. I wasn't refereeing to a .500 season because who cares about that, I mean seriously it doesn't matter if you can't win in the playoffs.

The cardinals were better team 2-53 than Seahawks. Qb play doomed the cardinals. Boom

Peterson and Cromartie are above average and most teams would kill to have them, but they are no Sherman and Maxwell. Cromartie is 30 and his age will catch up to him. Sherman is better than Peterson and it's not just me who thinks that. I probably would rank Peterson a close 3rd in the league behind Sherman/Revis but its really close. Sherman plays one side of the field and locks it down, there are many QBs that wont even throw to that side. Peterson covers the #1 WR and does a great job at locking them down. We have our personal biases but still have to rate Sherman higher. Dont really know/care who plays safety for the Cardinals, Thomas and Chancellor are better. Dont even try to argue. Our LBs are pretty solid, yours dont stand out when I looked at the depth chart. Wagner, KJ, and Irvin I would still want. Your line is probably better than ours, minus Bennett who is a beast. I would also take Tarvaris Jackson over any of your QBs, probably also take Turbin over any of your RBs. Fitz and Floyd over Baldwin and Kearse obviously, the other WRs I will throw as a wash since none are anything super special and we probably both think that our guys "have a lot of potential" Sorry, but Housler I would put under Willson and probably Moeaki as well. I dont know enough about your O-line to go into it, but Okung and Unger on the Seahawks are solid guys. The others are just average and I dont care. Our punter is better. Yours has more punts inside the 20, sure, but that's only because the Cardinals punter more. Ryan had a better inside the 20 percentage and better average punt yards. I'd say the kickers are a wash, Hauschka had a down year and still was decent. Missed some long FGs which brings the percentage down. Kickers are kickers, your either good or you're replaced. Just ranking the starters and kickers, I would say the Cardinals are better at 7ish positions out of 24, Seahawks are better in 14ish, and you could probably make a case for the remaining 3 and a few more to go either way. I really have no time (or inclination) to go into the backups, but I will point out that our GM is a mastermind scouting and drafting. Not saying your GM isn't good but I think that one of the highest regarded GMs in the league has a pretty good set of backups. Ya, the Cardinals are better than the Seahawks in some positions, but not many. That's not a knock on the Cardinals either, the Seahawks are the #1 defense in the league so a lot of the defense is going to be better based on that fact. Take a look at this: insider.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2014/story/_/id/12195403/super-bowl-xlix-ranking-every-player-seattle-seahawks-new-england-patriots ...rankings all the Seahawks and Patriots players together. A lot of Seahawks players were rated really high and a lot were better than the Patriots at the same position. Pretty sure the Patriots are really good so if a lot of Seahawks outrank them, I think the same can be said for the Cardinals as well. Lastly I'll say, if the Cardinals were a better team 3-53 than the Seahawks, the Cardinals would have gone a little further this season.

You write a novel every time I write a sentence. This is too easy. The Seahawks are obviously superior. My main point was the cardinals got robbed. They would've been a tough out at least if Palmer had stayed healthy. The problem is all the NFC teams were close except Carolina lol.

I'd forgotten about this thread. Started rereading but it hurt my brain too much trying to understand all the tenuous arguments.
