Still looking for creative ideas for this. Would like to keep it included but so far everyone seems to be against allowing the advantage to be picking the flex position. If I, or y'all, can't come up with a good idea I may just nix Homefield Advantage all together.

I play in a dynasty league, where home teams are given a +5 start for home field advantage it works quite well, its a simple advantage and everyone will get to benefit it several times a season.

Yeah I thought about points straight up but am not a huge fan of that really. Can't say why, but I don't like just giving teams points.
Our homefield advantage will only be for the playoffs if we have one at all.

By rounds and playing lower seeded teams in the playoffs already seems like an advantage without actually altering a team or their scoring.

This is true, but with 16 teams instead of 24 we won't have any bye weeks. Seeding will be an advantage though.

ya, browsed the other thread
what about incorporating prestige points?
i havent fully read their benefits, but i assume you gain some when you win division and these prestige points help in the league, so just increase it 1 or 2 (dont know their exact value) when you win division
that way you are getting a VERY good bonus, but it really doesnt affect the games. still won on the grid iron
unless the prestige point gain is TOO advantageous (again, havent read the rules in like 3 months heh)

That could work...the benifits for PP's come in the off-season when you get free agent signing discounts depending on where you rank with PP's.
So you are saying if you win your division you get more PP's instead of homefield advantage?

I think that's a good idea. PP's instead of homefield works for me.

Well you already get PP's for making the playoffs and for winning division and for winning championship. So maybe we will just roll with that.

i dont think there is a fair way to give an advantage. in my $$ espn league i just do 1 point. its a generic redraft league, but the 1 Point basically says "tie goes to the runner" and if you STILL tie i think higher seed advances, so its a bonus, but i dont think it's mattered in 3-4 years.
so unless you give 1 or 2 points, any other method makes it really unfair and SUPER advantageous.
giving an extra PP maybe. so instead of 2, do 3? idk

I think you are right and with the stakes in this league its not really worth it to give someone and advantage.
Alright decision made...no Homefield Advantage. I'll think about giving prestige points for each Playoff win.
