Need more ideas ways to earn and lose prestige points. If you have any please post below. Feel free to look at the prestige points thread as well as the owner awards to see what is currently there for PP's.

How about a prestige point (or 0.1 points) for every tier each of your players move up in each year? Sort of an "eye for talent" prestige.

That's a good one. Fractional would be best for that. Do you lose points if they go down a tier?

If you want to keep the actual NFL general manager theme I would say no, eventually everyone is going to decline, not everyone is going to move up. The prestige of an NFL organization doesn't decline from hanging on to a aging veteran if they're still useful.

piggy backing off his idea
there should be an award for a gm who has an eye for talent. something like every player under 1m who's in a certain tier (one of the top 2 or 3) and you award it to whoever owns them at the time they ascend into the tiers. or you could just award people who draft exceptionally well and then a separate award for those who maybe buy low/well in trades
an example would be whoever drafted julius thomas in 2013 is award w/e PP for that excellent draft pick but if someone grabs him in a trade early on he might get PP for grabbing a player on the low.
idk how to practically make it work, and you'd maybe be giving multiple PP for the same thing
but just kind of spitballing here

I like it, gets the ideas flowing. I will almost definitely include Omahas idea as I think it makes a lot of sense. I think there is away to do your idea PHX but maybe it is by evaluating each class after two years. If your 2014 class has progressed up more tiers more than gone down tiers after 2 seasons then you would get 1 PP or -1PP.
So lets say you had 4 2014 picks. 2 of them went up 2 tiers each 1 went down a tier and 1 went down 2 tiers then you would have 4 up and 3 down thus earning you a PP as a talent evaluator. Thoughts? I don't want to give out 1 PP for grabbing one great player on the low as it wouldn't be equal, since you only get 1 pp for winning in the semi-finals and 3 for the superbowl.

i definitely think there should be a negative PP if your first round pick is a bust. i mean ultimately we never know, but just like in the NFL. if you keep drafting bad (raiders) you'll get fired or be related to al davis anyways lol

Lol, we could just make it where your team name is the raiders if you keep drafting busts.
The raiders are so bad.

espn had a graphic showing the 1st round picks the raiders had made and the EXACT pick right after them (for instance #1 jamaracuss, while megatron went #2) and the list of picks that happened RIGHT after teh raiders for the past 14 years is basically a pro bowl roster lol.
so bad

That would actually be a fun punishment, whoever drafts the worst in year one has to have their name changed to the raiders. You could make it a yearly thing and have people vote on in at the end of the year along with best manager/most improved/ect.

Would probably wait until after year two, that way each rookie class could have 2 years to prove their merit.

What about PP for trades? They could be half or quarter points, with further PP for savvy trades, maybe an owner drafted low or picked up of waivers, the next Foles or Forster and trades him for higher value picks.

Only problem with that is that you get into a situation where you have to evaluate every trade for who got what and then who gets to make the call if it was a good trade one way or another? I have no problem doing PP's for teams that do trades, just to encourage trading but I won't do them based on value.

The Al Davis draft award, the winner has to carry it in their signature for a season. For e.g. Al Davis draft award winner 2014

How about a Jimmy Johnson award, for pulling off the trade of the season.
