Post away and I will edit/add to this post with all the ideas/thoughts. 1.) Scoring for Return TD's/Yards/Special Teams 2.) Suspended players to IR I think you mean Return TD's for Offensive players since defensive players already get these on special teams lol....anyways yes this needs to be discussed. Also, defensive players getting offensive TDs. (i.e. JJ Watt getting a TD reception). a TD should count as a TD no matter how you score it (unless you throw it).

Zach that last one doesn't really need to be discussed I just need to adjust D players to get points for playing on offense. Wasn't something I thought about when set up scoring but it should be the same all around on either side of the ball. Plus it happens maybe 3 times a year.

Oh, two things I'd like to discuss regarding scoring:
Either:
#1, combine rushing and receiving yards -or- #2, instead of 1 pt for every 10 yards, make it .1 pt for every yard. (same for passing)

Yes, I will be switching it to .1 per yard for sure, and will make sure QB's yardage is down to the decimal as well.

Coaches scoring
This is part of a larger debate which, looking at the chat is about to start again, but I think coaches scoring should be changed to:
0 for a loss 5 for a tie 10 for a win
This obviously will provide a resolution to the issues over starting coaches and bye weeks (not necessarily in a way everyone will be happy with...) by bringing it in line with every other position in the league. If you don't start someone you are only missing out on upside (more or less, obviously overall negative scores for other positions are possible but very rare compared to the likelihood of a coach's team losing).
Though there are very good reasons for coaches being treated differently in terms of the 2 per team limit (there aren't backups, you can't roster the next big thing etc. etc.) in practice week-to-week they operate exactly the same as QBs or kickers. If in 2015 the NFL schedule came out such that the QBs on your roster had a bye week clash then it's been firmly established you'd either have to accept you're starting no one or trade for someone else. My proposal would just bring head coaches in line with this.

using PP to remove cap hits for the season. This would happen sometime after the super bowl and before the off season gets rolling.
we'd decide on a set price, say 10 PP. and that'd remove anything from 500k to 50m (if a team could accrue that much) you could also scale it for $ cost if you'd like... but i think a flat rate fee is best.
this idea came to me from madden franchises i've played in the past.

Conditional waiver drops.
For example, you can put in a waiver claim without having the cap/roster space, but in that claim put who you would drop to make the claim legal. The drop only goes through if you win the waived player.

This is probably a little out there, and will probably be hard to watch for the commish, but how about graduated waiver penalties. Basically, if someone bids on and wins a waived player, the original owner's cap hit penalty is reduced by 30% of the player's new contract, per year.
For example, if San Fran cuts Monte Ball at $15mill, he gets a penalty of $4.5mill. If no one picks him up at that price, but later on he gets bid on and won for $5mill, San Fran's penalty is reduced by $1.5mill ($5mill * 30%).
Thoughts?

I agree. Maybe make the waiving team pay attention to see if their cut players are re-signed? That puts the onus on them rather than you.

that's not how it works in NFL it sounds sweet, but that just aint how they do it.
unless im wrong in which case the penalty should just be subtracted by the amount he's signed for.

Pretty sure there is no such rule in the NFL, but there is scope for diverging from NFL rules if we think it motivates activity in a good way. In this instance I guess the idea is owners would be more encouraged to drop certain players since the cap hit will be reduced?
I think it only really applies to players who are potentially useful but just overpaid though. Otherwise you'd trade them with their existing contract for something in return, or when you cut them you'd have no reasonable expectation of someone else picking them up and this ever being relevant. For that reason Montee Ball is a good (but maybe rare) example, and even for him I'm not sure I'd be cutting him completely just on the understanding I wouldn't end up with so much of a cap hit.
TL;DR could work but I'm not sure it would come into use that much

so instead of the fabled tj yates rule, i suggest we just do this.
in the event that someone misses the 24 hour deadline, the player in question is automatically assigned a 1year deal and the team is assessed a fine/pp w/e
i think 99% of the time the team wanted the player and just couldnt make it to the computer or life happens. i think either increasing the time to 48 hours, or just installing an automatic 1year w/ small penalty would solve the problem.
i think this is a better solution than being hit w/ a semi large fine and losing access to the player for future purposes.
thoughts?

denied on raising the limit on compacts. And coaching needs some clarification but A LOT of attention is an exaggeration, but I'll put it on there.

defensive flex most used bonus
we have an offensive one (rb/wr/te)
but we dont have a bonus/discount for the most used defensive flex position

defensive flex most used bonus we have an offensive one (rb/wr/te) but we dont have a bonus/discount for the most used defensive flex position Ya but we do have a defensive discount based on coaching scheme. Other ideas: - Coach discount for offense (running-minded coach gets a 5% discount on RB, passing-minded coach gets a 5% discount on WR/TE, balanced coach can get 2.5% on all positions)
- Bid increase amount not set at $500k increments, having this hard limit restricts some teams. Maybe decrease it to $250k and allow teams to bid other amounts. (ie: $510k or $520k instead of $500k, etc)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much yes to removing the 500k minimum bet increases any we should be able to do 7.1 etc type stuff.
also good point seattle, but the coaching defensive discount only affects LB / DL, so maybe included CB w/ LB's and S's with DL's maybe? instead of creating a new discount.
also, dont like the 5/5/2.5 dont wanna just give discounts for EVERYTHING. imo.

Yeah that is my main concern, I don't want to over-discount everything. But we can discuss further in off-season. I will see if MFL will allow me to change the increments. That was a restriction that I couldn't work around on that system but I will play with it more.

1) Compacting waiver salary hit (increase from $2M salary to unlimited). I see no point in limiting it. 2) Have a new rule that states that "If an exemption to the bylaws is given to one owner, it must be given to all owners." This is to make it fair to the entire league and will clear things up if problems arise in the future. 3) Clarify minimum $500k salary. Is $500k still the minimum or can it be less once you factor in discounts? We have a few contracts that are under $500k, so just want to clarify. 4) IR status transfer in trades? If I place someone on regular IR (gone for season) and trade them to another team, can that team still use the player? 5) Look at possibility of extending/RFAing veteran players. Currently the rules favor rookies and you cannot extend or RFA veterans which is difficult in retaining them. Just want to discuss it.

6) Looking at changing the tier system for kickers. Instead of percentage (which can be affected if a team forces a kicker to kick a lot of 50+ FGs instead of chip shots), we can use a combo of percentage and total points.
